McGregor Breaks Silence On Presser No Show

MMA news

After more than 14 hours of silence, UFC 303 headliner (for now) Conor McGregor finally issued a statement regarding the cancelation of his kickoff press conference, a ticketed event previously scheduled for Monday afternoon at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

“In consultation with the UFC, today’s press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “I apologize to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support. I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon.”

Unfortunately, McGregor’s statement did little to clear up the confusion surrounding today’s postponement and “Notorious” made no mention of remaining atop the UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) card, scheduled for Sat., June 29, 2024 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In addition, opponent Michael Chandler — who was sent home prior to boarding his flight to Dublin — has not commented on the drama unfolding over the last few hours. It’s worth noting that fans did not appreciate “Iron’s” attempt to play coy on social media.

Expect more updates to this still-developing story in the coming days, if not sooner.
