The upcoming boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been postponed.
On Sunday, Tyson reportedly had a medical incident while boarding a plane in Miami, becoming “nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up.” Ultimately, Tyson was fine, announcing on Monday that he was feeling “100 percent” better following the incident. At the time, Paul also noted that nothing had changed with regard to the fight, but it appears that was wishful thinking.
On Friday, Netflix, which is the streaming provider for the event, announced that the bout will be postponed from its planned July 20 date as the incident limited Tyson’s ability to train properly ahead of the fight.
Unfortunately Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will not face-off on July 20 as planned. Tyson’s recent ulcer flare up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks.

“Unfortunately Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will not face-off on July 20 as planned. Tyson’s recent ulcer flare up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks.
“The fight will be rescheduled for a date later this year after Mike’s able to resume training with no limitations and both fighters can have equal time to prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup!”
Paul’s promotion, Most Valuable Promotions, also released a statement on move, including quotes from Tyson and Paul.
“Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level,” MVP said. “The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.”
Tyson is 57 years old and has not competed since an exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. Paul most recently knocked out Ryan Bourland in March, moving to 9-1 in his professional boxing record.
There is no set timeline for when the matchup will be rebooked at this time.
