Justin Gaethje appears to be in good spirits after UFC 300.

Gaethje (25-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) was on the wrong end of a vicious knockout in the closing moments of the BMF title fight against Max Holloway at UFC 300.

In the final seconds of Round 5, Holloway (26-7 MMA, 22-7 UFC), who was already up on all scorecards, pointed to the center of the canvas, inviting Gaethje to slug it out until the final horn. Both fighters met in the middle and began swinging for the fences, but Gaethje got caught and brutally knocked out with one second remaining.

UFC CEO Dana White would later dub the moment as “the ultimate holy sh*t moment of all time” during a post-event news conference.

Gaethje was laid out flat in the center of the canvas, but after being tended to, was able to stand for the announcement of the official decision, and then walked out of the octagon.

In his first statement since the loss, Gaethje congratulated Holloway and let everyone know he was in good spirits.

“I’m in great spirits with my family,” Gaethje wrote on X. “Thanks for all the love. What a sport. @BlessedMMA you’re a dog. Congrats. Well deserved double bonus.”
