Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to its APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the UFC Vegas 70 mixed martial arts (MMA) event TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 25, 2023), streaming LIVE on ESPN+. UFC Vegas 70 will be headlined by the 205-pound showdown between Top 10-ranked light heavyweight contenders Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann. Before that five-round clash of styles gets underway, Brazilian submission specialist Andre Muniz looks to keep his winning streak alive against rough-and-tumble middleweight bruiser Brendan Allen in UFC Vegas 70’s co-main event. Elsewhere on the card, fan favorite flyweight competitors Montana De La Rosa and Tatiana Suarez hook ‘em up at 125 pounds.

Round 1: Peek throws out kicks, misses big on a right hand. Low kick and jab. Low-high 2-3. Gonzalez looking to answer with single shots. One minute in. Peek really loading up, lands a 1-2 and starts teeing off at point blank. Gonzalez answers with a body lock takedown into side control. Peek quickly gets to his feet, Gonzalez still attached. Back down, back up, and they separate. Peek marching in and hurts Gonzalez with a 2-3. Gonzalez again ties up and puts him on the fence before tripping him down two minutes in. Big lift from Gonzalez, good scramble, Gonzalez maintains the body lock. Back down, back up. Gonzalez with another big leift, can’t take the back with two minutes to go.
Peek swats him with punches on the exit. Good 1-2 from Gonzalez, Peek cracks him with another right hand and gets taken down for it, Peek spins from kimura to armbar before standing. They separate with a minute to go. Good right cross from Gonzalez. Peek bangs the body, then knocks him loopy with a left hand. Peek swarming, drops him again, somehow can’t polish him off. Gonzalez manages to tie up, but Peek goes right back to battering him as soon as they separate. Another monster right hand crumples Gonzalez, allowing Peek to put him away just before the bell.
Final result: Peek def. Gonzalez by KO (punches)
125 lbs.: Gabriella Fernandes vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius
Round 1: Fernandes sending out kicks, answers a low kick with a counter left. 1-2 from Fernandes, tries a head kick, lands a leg kick. One minute in. Straight right by Jasudavicius, who eats a body kick in return. Fernandes continuing to circle and throw volume. Hard counter left. 1-2 and she circles away from return fire. Jasudavicius ducks a left hand and puts her on the fence two minutes in. Fernandes framing, trying to swat her with short punches as she defends. Knees from Jasudavicius. Fernandes tries a whizzer kick, but ends up on her back with two minutes to go.
Short punches from Jasudavicius. One minute to go. Side control, looking for the crucifix. 10-9 Jasudavicius.
Round 2: Fernandes throwing hard to start the round. Heavy left hands. Counter right from Jasudavicius catches Fernandes kicking and she puts Fernandes on the fence. Jockeying for position. One minute in. Jasudavicius muscles her down, can’t keep her there. The next attempt is successful, putting her on top in half guard. Two minutes in. Side control. Two minutes to go.
Fernandes seems completely lost off of her back as Jasudavicius gets the crucifix. Dropping elbows. One minute to go. Hard elbows. Fernandes tries to kick hear way before the bell. 10-8 Jasudavicius.
Round 3: Hard left from Fernandes after stopping a takedown. Again. Body kick and low kick. Jasudavicius shoots and hits an easy takedown against the fence. One minute to go. Fernandes holding onto a hopeless guillotine. She’s really squeezing, but she’s on the wrong side. Two minutes in. Jasudavicius moves to side control. Two minutes to go.
Jasudavicius staying heavy as Fernandes strikes off her back and does nothing to stand up. One minute to go. Jasudavicius stands over her, then drops some hard shots on the way down. 10-9 Jasudavicius.

155 lbs.: Jordan Leavitt vs. Victor Martinez
Round 1: Leavitt tosses out a couple low kicks. Sneaking in body kicks as well. Reactive shot, can’t get it initially, takes Martinez to the fence. One minute in. Knee to the body. Martinez manages to frame and separate, then puts together some solid boxing combos. Leavitt continuing to throw kicks with volume. One of them strays low. Two minutes in. Solid teep by Leavitt, who wraps up the clinch and lands a sharp elbow before slamming home a knee that splits Martinez’s guard and lands flush on the chin. Leavitt pours on the knees until Martinez crumbles and blasts him with punches until the ref intervenes.
Final result: Leavitt def. Martinez by TKO (knees and punches)
130 lbs.: Charles Johnson vs. Ode Osbourne
Round 1: Osbourne firing kicks to start. Johnson tries to answer in kind. Osbourne doing good work attacking the calf. One minute in. Osbourne really chewing up both legs. He catches a head kick and tries to attack Johnson as he stands. Body kick lands for Johnson, who avoids punches but eats another low kick. Two minutes in. Good punch exchange. Osbourne is by far the busier of the two so far, potshotting well. More low kicks piling up. Two minutes to go.
Johnson talking trash, but not offering any return fire as Osbourne whacks away at his legs. Johnson falling short with his punches. Osbourne catches a kick, can’t use it, catches him coming in. Johnson flies in with a slap to the fence, then takes Osbourne down. Looking for the back, landing punches. Osbourne works his way up, eating knees to the thigh. Elbow from Johnson on the exit. Osbourne coming back with volume. Good 1-2s. 10-9 Osbourne.
Round 2: Both men super-mobile to start. Osbourne catches a kick, then has to fight off a shot from Johnson. Johnson’s next kick catches Osbourne in the family jewels. It’s a bad one, and Osbourne takes nearly the full five minutes to recuperate. He does do so, however, and we’re back to the high-speed exchanges. One minute in. Low kicks from Osbourne. Hard knee stomp. Body kicks. Sneaky elbow by Johnson. He’s still throwing a fraction of what Osbourne’s throwing. Osbourne catches catches another kick, then kicks him in the body. Two minutes in. Leaping hook from Johnson, nice elbow inside. Johnson gets the body lock and puts him on the fence. Knees from Johnson. Osbourne changes levels. Two minutes to go.
Osbourne keeping control against the side of the cage. Johnson tries to jump onto his back, ends up on the bottom, scrambles up with a minute to go. Osbourne counters a trip to land his own, they they’re right back on the feet moments later. Johnson tries a flying knee, lands a right hand, eats one in return. Johnson starting to pour it on late and Osbourne might be feeling the pace. 10-9 Osbourne.
Round 3: Johnson piling up kicks to start, eats a hard leg kick, slips on a head kick. Osbourne can’t manage to jump on him. He shoots, denied, takes Johnson to the fence. Johnson reverses a minute in, lands knees to the body. Jockeying for position. Knees to the thigh from Johnson. Good knee to the body by Osbourne. They separate two minutes in. Counter combo by Osbourne. Johnson chasing, falling short with punches. They trade lefts. Osbourne shoots, denied, avoids a guillotine and looks for the back. Two minutes to go.
Johnson slips free and goes back to walking after Osbourne. They both look exhausted. Single-leg by Osbourne puts him on top again. Johnson scoots to the fence and stands with a minute to go. They separate. Osbourne shoots, gets sprawled on. Both men totally spent. Body kicks from both. They end the fight swinging exhausted punches. 10-9 Osbourne.

155 lbs.: Carl Deaton vs. Joe Solecki
Round 1: Deaton takes the front foot to start. Counter hook lands for Solecki. Lots of feints and level changes to set up a single-leg attempt. Solid defense from Deaton initially, but Solecki re-shoots and dumps him down with a double-leg a minute in. Deaton bursts to his feet and Solecki immediately latches onto his back. Looking for the standing RNC as Deaton fights the hands. Two minutes in. Now it looks deep after some softening, but Deaton’s got his chin down. Solecki constantly switching sides to attack the choke, so far unable to cinch it up. Two minutes to go.
Solecki still plying backpack as Deaton tries to remove the body triangle. One minute to go. Solecki loses a hook, stays attached against the fence. Now the other one. 10-9 Solecki, not quite enough damage for a 10-8.
Round 2: Deaton commits to a big right hand and gets taken down for it in center cage. Solecki on top in side control, hops back into half guard. One minute in. Deaton holding onto a kimura grip, doesn’t have any body control but is stalling Solecki out for the moment. Solecki pops his arm free and chips away with punches two minutes in. Butter-smooth back take and he’s got the body triangle once again, this time on the mat. Hunting the RNC with two minutes to go.
Solecki trying to soften him up. One minute to go. Deaton fighting the hands well, but Solecki finally manages to get it under the chin and go palm-to-palm. Deaton tries some final desperate punches but passes out mid-swat, giving Solecki the technical submission win.

155 lbs.: Nurullo Aliev vs. Rafael Alves
Round 1: Alves takes the center and fires a quick pair of left hooks. Hard outside low kick, then a body kick that Aliev catches to slam him to the mat. Alves quickly regains guard and threatens a guillotine as he scoots to the fence. One minute in. Aliev pressuring him against the base of the fence. No ground-and-pound yet as we enter the third minute. Aliev advances to half guard, can’t keep it for long. Two minutes to go.
Aliev still pressuring as opposed to pounding. Alves suddenly yells to the ref that Aliev bit him in the finger, prompting them to pause the bout. Referee confirms that there’s a mark and elects to take a point from Aliev before restarting them on the feet. Aliev shoots, denied, body kick, shoots, denied. One minute to go. Alves continuing to stalk. Aliev blasts in for a long-range double-leg and hauls Alves to the fence. 9-9.
Round 2: Aliev pressing forward now, backing Alves to the fence before shooting in. Alves manages to snatch up the guillotine this time, but Aliev flashes a thumbs-up as he defends a minute in. After some adjustments it looks deeper, but Aliev slowly breaks his grip and settles on top in guard. Two minutes in. Arm punches from Aliev, staying tight. On to half guard, briefly considers an arm triangle. Solid elbow and some left hands behind it. Two minutes to go.
Aliev maintaining half guard and periodically landing punches. Alves regains guard before the bell, still eating arm punches. 10-9 Aliev.
Round 3: Alves catches Aliev coming in with a hard knee, then wraps up the guillotine again as Aliev shoots in. Alves uses it to roll him to mount and settle there a minute in. Playing tight on top as Aliev tries to swat him with arm punches. Looking for the arm triangle, loses it, and Aliev uses the opportunity to sweep into guard two minutes in. Back to pressuring against the base of the fence. Some short punches from half guard with two minutes to go.
Alves manages to get his back against the fence as the ref calls for more action. One minute to go. Now Aliev really goes to work, blasting with punches and elbows and ultimately avoiding a last-second leglock attempt to secure the round and fight. 10-9 Aliev.
