Paulo Costa rips UFC after news of Robert Whittaker UFC 284 fight ‘stop being petty’
Paulo Costa has been telling fans he’s not fighting Robert Whittaker for weeks, but no one believed him. Until now.
“I wasn’t bluffing,” he tweeted.
According to Brett Okamoto of ESPN, his sources tell him that the fight is not happening at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia.
Previously Costa had said that the announcement of the fight was “fake news” and that he was negotiating a new contract with the UFC. Whittaker called Costa a “notorious troll” and felt that the fight was still happening.
It looks like, at least for now, Costa is right.
According to ESPN, “Costa and the UFC have discussed a new contract, but nothing has been agreed upon.”
Shortly after Okamoto’s report was made public, Costa took to Twitter to blast the UFC for their negotiating skills.
“I think they’re taking it the wrong way, making fighters unhappy with deals isn’t very smart. It’s not only ME, I remember: Nagnnu , OMalley , Mark hunt etc,” he tweeted.
He also tweeted, “Great fights is going down due to lack of negotiation skills, they should stop being petty.”
