Sean O’Malley: ‘Khamzat Chimaev could f*** Alex Pereira up’
As fast as the referee raised Alex Pereira’s hand in victory over Israel Adesanya at UFC 281, the new middleweight champion was being called out by Khamzat Chimaev.
Chimaev is undefeated (15-0) and is ranked No. 3 in the UFC welterweight division. He also has three wins inside the octagon as a middleweight. If a match between “Borz” and Pereira ever materialized, top bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley knows who he’d putting his money on.
“Khamzat could f**k Alex up,” O’Malley said. “That left hand is nasty. If I had to put money of a fight, Alex vs. Khamzat, I would put it on Khamzat.”
“Khamzat might grab ahold of that motherf***er. Khamzat can grabble big scary guys like that,” O’Malley continued. “I’d put money on Khamzat over Pereira.”
Pereira is an enormous middleweight with one-punch knockout power. He’s an intimidating specimen, but O’Malley thinks Chimaev is more scary.
“Khamzat’s grappling is good, and he can knock motherf***ers out. Pereira is probably the more technical striker, but when it comes to who is more scary I’d say Khamzat,” O’Malley said.
