Leon Edwards wants ‘revenge’ against Jorge Masvidal after backstage altercation
The iconic MMA catchphrase “two-piece and a soda” emerged during a UFC London backstage altercation between Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal. At the time, fans believed Masvidal got the better of Edwards and then Masvidal went on the best tear of his career.
Now, the tables have turned and Masvidal is on a skid and Edwards his holding the welterweight title.
And Edwards is looking for his revenge.
“I think [Kamaru] Usman is deserving of the trilogy,” Edwards told Jim Rome when when asked who he wants to fight next. “Let’s settle the score.”
That phrase perked up Rome’s ears and he asked how likely he was to settle the score with Masvidal.
“Yeah 100 percent,” he said. “Jorge is on a two, three-fight losing streak so he needs to go out there and get some wins and make the fight make sense and that’s a fight that I think would be massive for the UFC and to get my revenge on him … I cannot wait.”
