Jorge Masvidal makes bold prediction about UFC welterweight division
Jorge Masvidal is searching for a belt to add to his BMF title and he’s got his eyes fixed on Leon Edwards at welterweight.
Masvidal already had his shot at then-UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman but now that he’s been de-throned it opens up the possibility for many new match-ups.
It’s unlikely that the UFC will set up Edwards and Masvidal “soon” as he seems to be implying. UFC president Dana White already mentioned a potential rematch for Usman in England, maybe even Wembley Stadium.
Edwards KO’d the champion and the pound-for-pound best after losing four of their five rounds. Usman was looking to cruise right into another defense before getting caught with a perfectly timed head kick that sat him down cold.
Leon Edwards says UFC 278 was ‘one of his worst performances’
