Retired one-time UFC middleweight king Michael Bisping has many talents, however, doing French accents is not one of them. That doesn’t mean watching him try isn’t an enjoyable experience.

In a new video post on his popular YouTube channel, “The Count” looked ahead to the main event of UFC 270 on Saturday night, and the brewing bad blood between the two individuals in that bout, Francis Ngannou (16-3) and Ciryl Gane (10-0). Since the matchup was made official a few months ago, the heat between the former MMA Factory teammates has only intensified.

With the bout just a day away it has reached a peak, and Bisping gave his thoughts on a recent addition to their war of words. That being Gane’s assertion that the reigning UFC heavyweight champion doesn’t have many friends in the business. Especially, not at his old training home in France.

Michael Bisping becomes French-ping in attempting Ciryl Gane impression

To add a little flavor to the video, the Englishman decided to attempt a French accent while reading a quote from “Bon Gamin” about Ngannou’s lack of pals. And while it’s nothing that will land him voice-over work, Bisping’s endeavor is amusing nonetheless. French-ping shows but at around the 4:50 mark of the video.

“And now Ciryl Gane isn’t talking trash. He’s not talking sh*t, but he is saying some things, that if I was Francis Ngannou I would have an issue with. He is out there saying — let me get this right — he’s saying basically that Francis doesn’t have any friends. Which is really like a backhanded insult. He’s saying he’s not popular,” Bisping explained.

“He said, ‘[in a French accent] he doesn’t have a lot of friends. This is is my opinion, this is my feeling. He really doesn’t have a lot of friends in my gym.’ Don’t worry I’m not gonna do a French accent any longer. He said it was already complicated in the last camp. ‘[French accent again] It was already complicated in the last camp with Fernand [Lopez], but he came back to the camp. Maybe he found something better in Las Vegas?’ I can’t do a French accent, I’m sorry. Certainly not one a 6’5″ Ciryl Gane would approve of!”

Ngannou vs Gane takes place in the headliner of tomorrow night’s UFC 270 pay-per-view event. The main card PPV portion of the card kicks off at 10 pm ET and can be purchased exclusively on streaming service ESPN+ for $74.99.
