Featuring a headlining matchup between former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos and Bulgarian knockout artist Kubrat Pulev, Triller Fight Club’s Triad Combat II is official for February.
Promotion officials today formally announced the card, though an exact date and venue have yet to be revealed.
In addition to the previously reported headliner, former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort will also be in action against former boxing champ Chad Dawson in a seven-round cruiserweight matchup.
Similar to the first Triad Combat event, Shannon Briggs and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will serve as team captains for the mixed rules event, where fighters are limited to attacking only with punches but can work dirty boxing when in an active clinch.
The 44-year-old Belfort (26-14 MMA) hasn’t competed in MMA since 2018, when he suffered a knockout loss to countryman Lyoto Machida in Brazil and announced his retirement from the sport. He did return to action in September in an exhibition boxing match, scoring a first-round TKO win over a 58-year-old Evander Holyfield.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Dawson (36-5 boxing) is a former boxing champ who boasts win over the likes of Bernard Hopkins and Antonio Tarver, among others. Dawson last saw action in 2019, going 2-0 on the year with a pair of decision wins.
