Jon Jones’ domestic violence charge was formally dismissed earlier this week.
TMZ Sports was first to report the news that the former UFC light heavyweight champion agreed to a plea deal with Las Vegas officials and had his misdemeanor domestic violence charge dropped on Tuesday. Court records obtained by the outlet also show that Jones “pled no contest to a misdemeanor charge of destroying property of another.” This particular offense is punishable by a fine that can range between $25 and $250.
As part of his plea agreement, “Bones” has been ordered to “stay out of trouble,” pay restitution for property damage, and also attend anger management counseling.

Jones was originally booked for misdemeanor battery domestic violence on Sept. 24, following an appearance at the 2021 UFC Hall-of-fame ceremony. The incident occurred at a Las Vegas hotel between Jones and his long-time girlfriend, and current fiancee, Jessie Moses. Moses is also the mother of the UFC star’s three children.
Moses claimed in a report that Jones pulled her hair but did not hit her. Blood was observed on her lip, and clothes by police who arrived after a call from the Caesars Palace resort where the couple and their children were staying.
After being stopped by Las Vegas police officers in the early hours of the night, Jones reportedly damaged a police vehicle while being detained. He then had the charge of tampering with a vehicle added on to the charge of domestic violence. The restitution he’ll now pay will likely be to local authorities.
Following the incident, Jones posted photos of himself and Moses and alleged the two had reconciled following the Sept. incident. He has also publicly stated his desire to turn his life around and bring an end to his alcohol abuse issues.
Jones (26-1) was later jettisoned from his long-time gym Jackson-Wink MMA after the incident became the final straw in a career that has seen the pound-for-pound star have several run-ins with law enforcement. Including a 2015 episode where Jones was driving while under the influence and caused a traffic accident that saw a pregnant woman incur a broken arm.
Jones fled the scene of the accident and was later arrested by New Mexico police.
The 34-year-old has not competed in the Octagon since a successful light heavyweight title defense against Dominick Reyes in February of 2020. He is currently transitioning his weight to make a heavyweight debut at some point in 2022. Jones is in the midst of a 19-fight unbeaten run in the UFC.
