The UFC Vegas 42 weigh-ins take place today from inside the same venue as Saturday afternoon’s event, the UFC APEX.
Fighters started hitting the scales around 11 am ET to make their matchups for Nov. 13 official. Lightweight Joel Alvarez and women’s flyweight Liana Jojua missed weight for their bouts on the card. Both were fined 30% from their fight purses and their scheduled bouts with Thiago Moises and Courtney Casey, respectively, will go ahead as scheduled.
The event is headlined by a pivotal matchup in the UFC featherweight division. When former weight class king Max Holloway makes his return to the Octagon to face third-ranked Mexican talent, Yair Rodriguez. The winner of this matchup is likely to face 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski in a title fight next.
Although earlier this week the Hawaiian star did suggest a rematch with Conor McGregor at lightweight could be a real possibility in 2022.
The card also features the return of Octagon stars and stalwarts in Ben Rothwell, Julio Arce, Cynthia Calvillo, Marc Diakiese, and Felicia Spencer.
