Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodriguez
Yair Rodriguez has long been viewed as a talent with championship potential. On Saturday night, he will get a chance to prove his time is now when he faces a legend of the division in Max Holloway. The Hawaiian is a massive favorite heading into the natchup. If he can succeed like Vegas oddsmakers expect him to, he will achieve the goal he has worked towards since July of 2020. A third fight with champion Alexander Volkanovski.
Prediction: Holloway by TKO, round 4
Miguel Baeza vs. Khaos Williams
The welterweight clash between Miguel Baeza and Khaos Williams is booking bent on delivering fireworks and a knockout finish. Both have shown thunder in their fists as they rose through the regional scene and scored contracts in the UFC. Although both have the power to put opponents into instant unconsciousness, they also are only getting better technically as strikers. Making this a fight that could be a chess match with explosive potential.
Prediction: Baeza by unanimous decision
Cynthia Calvillo vs. Andrea Lee
Cynthia Calvillo moved to the women’s flyweight division and instantly put her name in the title fight conversation after beating division stalwart Jessica Eye. Since then back-to-back losses have some wondering if the weight class truly is an optimal home for the Mexican-American. A win over another ranked talent in Andrea Lee is a must if she hopes to get back into contention. However, Lee is in a must-win as well, as she looks to avoid losing four of her last five and being bounced from the division rankings.
Prediction: Calvillo by unanimous decision
