Ali Abdelaziz slapped Dillon Danis backstage at UFC 268

According to MMA Junkie’s, John Morgan, MMA manager, Ali Abdelaziz allegedly slapped Dillon Danis backstage at UFC 268 on Saturday in New York City. The report is allegedly corroborated by multiple witnesses with who Morgan spoke to on-site. Danis was reportedly escorted out of the building following the confrontation.

There’s no indication of how the confrontation started or what led to Abdelaziz striking Danis, at press time.

Abdelaziz was on-site celebrating the win of his client, Kamaru Usman, who won a close decision in a rematch with Colby Covington in the main event.

Danis was on-site looking for UFC commentator Michael Bisping who he was having beef with on Twitter leading up to the fight. It seems Danis found a different fight instead.

Danis was recently arrested in New Jersey and put in a choke hold by police before being booked.

Abdelaziz had been in similar trouble in the past. The manager famously slapped Usman’s opponent, Covington, in 2020 and he also slapped fellow MMA manager, Abe Kawa, at a Professional Fighter’s League event in 2019.

That time, former UFC champion, Anthony Pettis got involved and part of the altercation was caught on camera.

“Abdelaziz slapped Kawa ‘like a bitch’ and ‘was gone in 15 seconds,” Pettis told ESPN at the time. Abdelaziz cited for misdemeanor battery for that incident.
