UFC bantamweight Douglas Silva de Andrade’s easiest path to victory at UFC Vegas 38 was using his grappling against former muay Thai champ Gaetano Pirrello. But his heavy hands wound up doing the job instead.
A left hook took Pirrello off his feet as he attempted a leg kick, and Andrade’s follow up hammerfists secured the knockout win at 2:04 of the opening frame.

A hyped-up Andrade twice did a flip off the cage and came very close to running into officials tending to his downed opponent. Later, he broke down with emotion as he took in his victory.
The win put Andrade back in the win column after a decision loss to Lerone Murphy in his previous UFC appearance. His octagon record now stands at 5-4, while Pirrello, a former European and world champ in kickboxing, has now lost two straight after his debut ended in a submission loss to Ricky Simon.
