Jon Jones arrested for domestic violence in Las Vegas
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones was arrested early Friday morning by the Las Vegas Metro PD and charged with battery domestic violence.
According to TMZ, officers responded to a call from Caesars Palace at 5:45 this morning. The 34-year old Jones was taken into custody and charged misdemeanor domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle, a felony.
Jones attended the UFC Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday evening. This isn’t the first time Jones has had a brush with the law. In 2012, Jones was arrested for driving under the influence in New York. In 2015, Jones was arrested after a hit-and-run incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2019, Jones pleaded no contest to battery charges involving a cocktail waitress in New Mexico. In March 2020, Jones was charged with aggravated DWI, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container, and driving with no proof of insurance in Albuquerque.

Jones last fought in February 2020 at UFC 247, defeating Dominick Reyes by unanimous decision. He later relinquished his light heavyweight title to pursue opportunities in the heavyweight division. He’s yet to compete as a heavyweight.
