Paddy Pimblett has plans for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White and his fellow executive during UFC Vegas 36 Fight Week.
Pimblett (16-3) is among the biggest and brightest prospects coming out of England. Having turned down the UFC twice in the past, the former Cage Warriors star will make his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 36, taking place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sat., Sept. 4 via ESPN+ against Luigi Vendramini (9-2).
Ahead of the fight, the Liverpool native spoke with reporters at the UFC Vegas 36 media scrum and shared exactly how he plans on making the most of his time in the promotion.
“I’ve always known is not a matter of if the UFC wants to sign me, it’s when. It was always coming. You know, look at me. I have the personality, the look and I can fight. I’m a marketer’s wet dream,” Pimbelett said on Wednesday. “Being here is great. I can’t wait to go to the [UFC Performance Institute] later. It’ll be the first-ever time that I’ve been. All the proper UFC officials are here. All the head honchos, lad. They all want to see the new cash chow, lad. The new main man. So I’m here to headlock Dana and Hunter and Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard, lad. I’m here to get them all in a headlock later and let them know who the new kid on the block is.
“I’m going to be the new face of this sport, lad, and I’m not going to do that with a 29-28 decision.”
