Conor McGregor’s UFC contract. It’s always been a mystery to folks not in the know, but it seems that whenever he is ready to return to action, “Notorious” will only have two fights left on his current Ultimate Fighting Championship contract.

When it comes to McGregor (22-9), unofficial extensions and renegotiated pacts are all we ever seem to know about the former two-division champions contracts. He has remained the promotion’s most famous employee with few official announcements regarding the signing of new contracts. However, in a Tweet Tuesday to clarify that he is the king of combat sports pay-per-views, the Irishmen let it slip that his current deal is almost over.

The latest Conor McGregor’s UFC Contract is almost finished

“This list is incorrect,” McGregor opened his Tweet by writing [h/t Bloodyelbow]. “McGregor-Aldo done more than UFC 100, Brock vs mir. And McGregor-Cowboy done more than McGregor-Aldo. I currently hold 8 of the UFC’s top 10 ppv’s. With two fights left on my contract, I will look to finish with the full top 10 in ppv’s. Motivating!”

It’s unlikely that the UFC would allow their most marketable and famous talent to take his talents elsewhere, but in a world where Tyron Woodley is making US $2 million to fight a 4-0 Jake Paul in boxing, one can only wonder what the 33-year-old superstar could make in the land of the sweet science if certain promoters looked to pull him to that sport.

McGregor is currently sidelined following his UFC 264 loss to hated rival Dustin Poirier (28-6), where he fractured his leg during the fight. Following a kick attempt late in the first round, his right leg buckled under him after trying to plant his weight on it. The injury wasn’t noticed at first by the referee, and the round continued for close to a minute. However in between rounds, when the Irishman could not stand back up, the Octagon side doctor called an end to the action immediately.

The referee awarded Poirier a technical knockout victory, handed McGregor a second straight defeat to the American, and the setback meant he’d lost three of his last four fights inside the Octagon.

McGregor’s recovery from his gruesome injury is going well, and just this week he walked for the first time on his injured limb with the help of an anti-gravity treadmill.

Who would you like to see McGregor face in the last two fights on his UFC contract?
