A pair of heavyweight matchups are among the latest additions to the Bellator 262 fight card.
Promotional officials confirmed on Wednesday that Tyrell Fortune will meet Matt Mitrione, while Linton Vassell will square off against UFC veteran Marcelo Golm at on the event’s main card, which takes place July 16 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
After suffering the first loss of his career to Timothy Johnson at Bellator 239, Fortune is unbeaten in his last three. The 30-year-old fought Jack May to a no contest after an accidental low blow in his next appearance at Bellator 245 in September before earning a decision win over Said Sowma two months later, along with putting a stamp on his rivalry with May with a first-round TKO win at Bellator 255 in April.
Meanwhile, Mitrione will look to pick up his first win since earning a majority decision against Roy Nelson at Bellator 194 in February 2018. The former UFC heavyweight dropped a unanimous decision to Ryan Bader, and has been stopped by Johnson and Sergei Kharitonov during his recent three-fight losing streak.
Vassell will look to extend his current winning streak to three, while Golm makes his Bellator debut following a pair of finishes for Taura MMA and XMMA respectively.
