Jake Paul didn’t get a warm reception from the crowd at a New York City press conference for his morally dubious fight against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson on Friday, November 15th.
Paul was booed relentlessly through the press conference.
“Love him or hate him, all of you are here to see him!” press conference host Ryan Clark declared, which only made the crowd — who was there to see Mike Tyson, clearly — even more derisive. “Iron” Mike received cheers and chants of “Tyson!” for his 20 minute appearance.
“Hey New York, shut the f— up New York!” Paul yelled as his answers were drowned out by jeers. “Ay, boo yourselves. Boo yourself, New York. New York, you’re just like Mike Tyson. You were good twenty years ago. F— you, New York! F— you! Dumb ass democratic city.”

The first thing Mike Tyson did was confirm he was healthy enough to fight this time around. Their first date — July 20th — was canceled after Tyson withdrew due to an undisclosed illness.
“I’m very prepared,” Mike said. “I had a small adversity, I got sick but I got better. I feel good.”
Tyson seemed to be at a loss for words through much of the press conference, and Ryan Clark didn’t help with odd questions suggesting Tyson was a villain back in the day, or that Jake Paul was a ‘young killer.’
“Is he really a young killer?” Tyson asked with a smile.
Tyson remained uninterested in sparring verbally, but Paul claimed it didn’t bother him.
“I’m here to make $40 million dollars and knock out a legend,” he said. I don’t give a f— about anything else, and he’s the one that wanted to make it a pro fight. So he’s gonna get his ass knocked out, for real, on a real record. You’re gonna see on BoxRec — Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, Jake Paul KOs Mike Tyson. I’m not here to do anything but make a bag.”
The crowd kept things rowdy, chanting curses at Paul through a short and uneventful Q&A period. When it was time to face off, Mike Tyson suddenly kicked into gear, rushing forward and punching Paul in the chest. He laughed and seemed to apologize before pretending to face off and shoving Paul back. Paul returned the favor months after, but it was all a big joke to Tyson, who continued to reach out and swipe at Jake until they were ushered offstage.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson goes down Friday November 15th from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Those looking to tune in can catch the fight for free with a Netflix subscription.
