An amateur MMA bout Friday at Cage Titans 55 in Plymouth, Mass. ended in audibly and visibly grotesque fashion.
Plymouth Memorial Hall quickly turned into a house of horror upon the finishing sequence of a preliminary card bout between bantamweight debutants. When Kyle Pavao snatched a keylock and stood up, he simultaneously snapped the left arm of his opponent Wayne Downer.
The snap sounded throughout the venue, echoed by groans and moans from terrorized fans in attendance. Upon the snap, Pavao released the arm immediately and Downer faceplanted to the canvas as referee Steve Rita rushed to help.

Among those petrified were cage-side commentators Richie Santiago and Andy Kurzontkowski, who struggled to process the gruesomeness that played out in front of them.
“Oh, his arm just broke,” Santiago yelled.
“Right in front of my eyes,” Kurzontkowski added. “Wow, wow, wow, wow. Technical submission. Arm is snapped. Oh my God. Oh my God. Kyle Pavao has devastating submission skills. This place is… this place is… I think every single person in this person is… woah. I haven’t seen that happen live before. That was one of the nastiest things I’ve seen.”
Santiago interjected again, “That just made me shiver.”
