Curtis Blaydes won’t risk rank to run back Tom Aspinall fight after freak injury

The UFC London main event between Curtis Blaydes and Tom Aspinall did not live up to expectation. Blaydes was awarded the victory 15 seconds after the opening bell. Aspinall appeared to have tweaked his knee and fell to the canvas in pain. The bout was over because of the injury, leaving Blaydes feeling like the fight never happened.

He still got the “W” though. So he’s not willing to run it back or take on a lower ranked contender. Blaydes now wants to sit back and wait for a fight with a higher ranked contender to earn a shot at the UFC heavyweight championship.
