UFC Fight Night 205 post-event facts: Jessica Andrade matches Amanda Nunes’ record

UFC Fight Night 205 proved to be one of the promotion’s more exciting events of the year. Saturday’s card from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas featured eight stoppages out of 11 fights.

None of those finishes, however, was more significant than the one produced by former champion Jessica Andrade (23-9 MMA, 14-7 UFC), who locked up a historic standing arm-triangle choke submission on Amanda Lemos (11-2-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) in the headlining bout.

It was one of several notable feats to come out of the card. For more on the numbers, check below for MMA Junkie’s post-event facts from UFC Fight Night 205.

Events stats

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $149,500.

Debuting fighters went 0-2 at the event.

Andrade, Claudio Puelles, Sergey Khandozhko and Dwight Grant earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 205 fight-night bonuses.

The UFC sold VIP tickets to fans for UFC Fight Night 205, but the promotion did not make public the total number of tickets sold or the gate.

Betting favorites went 9-2 on the card.

Betting favorites improved to 10-3 in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 11-bout card was 1:17:12.

Jessica Andrade def. Amanda Lemos

Jessica Andrade

Andrade was successful in her return to the UFC strawweight division.

Andrade’s 14 UFC victories are tied with Amanda Nunes for most by any female in company history.

Andrade’s eight stoppage victories in UFC women’s competition are second most in company history behind Nunes (10).

Andrade earned the first standing arm-triangle choke submission in UFC history.

Andrade’s eight fight-night bonuses for UFC strawweight bouts are most in divisional history.

Lemos has suffered both of her career losses by stoppage.

Lemos suffered the first submission loss of her career.

Claudio Puelles def. Clay Guida

Puelles’ (12-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) five-fight UFC winning streak at lightweight is tied for the fourth-longest active streak in the division behind Charles Oliveira (10), Islam Makhachev (nine) and Beneil Dariush (seven).

Puelles’ three submission victories by kneebar in UFC competition are most in company history. No other fighter has earned more than one win with the technique.

Clay Guida (37-22 MMA, 17-16 UFC) fell to 5-5 since he returned to the UFC lightweight division in June 2017.

Guida fell to 3-5 in his past eight fights dating back to June 2018.

Guida has suffered 13 of his 22 career losses by stoppage. That includes nine of his 16 UFC defeats.

Guida’s 16 losses in UFC competition are second-most in company history behind Jeremy Stephens (18).

Maycee Barber def. Montana De La Rosa

Maycee Barber (10-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) improved to 4-2 since she moved up to the UFC women’s flyweight division in March 2019.

Montana De La Rosa (12-7-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) has suffered all three of her UFC losses by decision.

Charles Jourdain def. Lando Vannata

Charles Jourdain (13-4-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) has earned 12 of his 13 career victories by stoppage.

Lando Vannata (12-6-2 MMA, 4-6-2 UFC) fell to 1-1 since hie dropped to the featherweight division in May 2021.

Vannata has suffered both of his career stoppage losses by submission.

Marc-Andre Barriault def. Jordan Wright

Marc-Andre Barriault (14-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) earned the first submission victory of his career.

Jordan Wright (12-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his career losses by stoppage.

Wright suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Tyson Pedro def. Ike Villanueva

Ike Villanueva (17-14 MMA, 1-5 UFC) has suffered 13 of his 14 career losses by stoppage.

Villanueva has suffered all five of his UFC losses by knockout.

Tyson Pedro (8-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) returned to competition from a career-long layoff and earned his first victory since February 2018.

Pedro had earned all eight of his career victories by (first-round) stoppage.

Preston Parsons def. Evan Elder

Preston Parsons (10-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) earned the first decision victory of his career.

Evan Elder (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his seven-fight winning streak snapped for the first defeat of his career

Philipe Lins def. Marcin Prachnio

Philipe Lins (15-5 MMA, 1-2 UFC) was successful in his UFC light heavyweight debut.

Lins earned his first decision victory since Sept. 6, 2013 – a span of 3,151 days and 14 fights.

Marcin Prachnio (15-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) suffered his first decision loss since Apr. 4, 2014 – a span of 2,941 days and 18 fights.
