The UFC Vegas 46 medical suspensions — exclusively on MixedMartialArts.com — are in from the Nevada Athletic Commission, and both fighters from the night’s main event could be in for a long hiatus to recover from injuries suffered this past weekend.
In the UFC Vegas 46 headliner, Calvin Kattar (23-5) scored a dominant and pivotal victory over fellow top-10 fighter Giga Chikadze (14-3). The New England Cartel talent won the five-round bout by unanimous decision. Winning every single round on all three judge’s scorecards. However, despite not showing as much physical damage as his foe, Kattar could be out of action until July unless he receives clearance from an ENT doctor for a nasal bone fracture.
Chikadze’s future is a bit cloudier as the NAC has suspended him indefinitely and he must have an MRI and evaluation from a neurosurgeon in the next two weeks. The Georgian was on the receiving end of 144 significant strikes, with 88% of those to his head.
Beyond the two headliners, the majority of the 20 fighters on the card were able to avoid serious injuries at the event. You can find the full medical evaluations run down below.
