UFC 272 will be the MMA world leaders pay-per-view offering for the month of March. Although the card is still developing and does not yet have an official main event, it already includes several exciting matchups that will go down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

In the card’s featured featherweight matchup, promotional stalwart and Brazilian star, Edson Barboza, will look to bounce back from his August loss to Giga Chikadze by handing grappling ace Bryce Mitchell his first career loss. This will be by far the biggest test yet in the unbeaten 14-fight career of “Thug Nasty.”

UFC 262 also includes a clash of ranked female flyweights when one-time title challenger Jessica Eye looks to end a three-fight losing streak against France’s Manon Fiorot. “The Beast” is unbeaten in her first three fights in the organization and is viewed as a possible future threat to division queen Valentina Shevchenko.

Edson Barboza (22-10) vs. Bryce Mitchell (14-0)

Ultimate Fighter Season 27 alum Mitchell is one of the fastest rising talents at featherweight. He hasn’t lost many rounds during his first five appearances in the Octagon and has become one of the very best grapplers in the entire division. Barboza will offer his toughest challenge yet in an elite striker who has sound takedown defense. Like many previous Barboza opponents who excel on the ground, Mitchell will need to weather his foes early storm and play the long game to get the fifteenth win of his career. However, if he gets sloppy on the feet he could see his night come to a quick and violent end.

Prediction: Mitchell by unanimous decision

Jessica Eye (15-10) vs. Manon Fiorot (8-1)

Although her current three-fight skid is not the longest of her career, Eye really needs a win nonetheless. Turning her fortunes around against a destructive striker like Fiorot, however, is going to be a tall task. While Eye is skilled with her hands and feet, showcasing her all-around skills and making the most of a massive experience advantage will help land her first win since 2019. The question is, can she do it, or will Mar. 5 be another key development leap forward for the fighter out of Nice.

Prediction: Fiorot by unanimous decision
