UFC bantamweight star Sean O’Malley made a bunch of Walmart shoppers Christmas eve a little more special as he randomly handed out gifts of $100.

O’Malley (15-1) is one of the fastest-rising talents in the UFC. After just eight fights in the promotion, he has become a featured fighter on whatever main card he competes and is arguably the most popular fighter in the promotion’s 135-pound division. His close to three million followers on social media and over 360,000 subscribers on YouTube are proof of his incomparable fame after just a few years on the UFC roster.

Along with being beloved by younger UFC fans, “Sugar” is also a divisive personality in the sport. Many fans and media question the level of opponents he has faced during his UFC career. Claiming he is avoiding the cream of the crop at bantamweight. Others support his strategy of holding out for bigger paydays before he risks his value in more challenging matchups. No matter what side of the fence you land on when it comes to the 27-year-olds matchmaking history, it’s hard not to support what he did last week on Christmas eve.

Sean O’Malley handed out $100 to random strangers on Christmas eve

In a Tuesday night post to his YouTube channel, the twelfth ranked bantamweight decided to bring Christmas cheer to two local Walmarts by randomly handing out stacks of singles worth $100, and $20 bills to folks walking into the stores.

“We are live inside of a Walmart right now. I don’t really know how to give money to people. I’m kind of nervous,” O’Malley said in the video. “I don’t really have a game plan. Just kind of going with the flow. Stay tuned.”

Of course, it should come as no surprise that some people were wary of being given $100 by a stranger. Especially, from one with multi-colored cornrows and face tattoos. But in the end, no one turned down the offer and quite a few recognized O’Malley from his Octagon exploits.

Surprisingly, several shoppers turned down the chance at $20 as “Sugar” gave out the cold hard cash while posted up in front of the store. I guess the point when it becomes okay to accept money from an unusual-looking stranger is when hits the $100 mark.

O’Malley last fought at UFC 269 earlier this month. On that night inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, he earned a first-round technical knockout over Raulian Paiva. It was his twelfth finish in 15 career victories.

Would you have readily accepted money from a stranger that looks like Sean O’Malley, or would you have been a little unsure too?
