On Wednesday, Nicco Montano, a former UFC women’s flyweight champion, claimed she was hospitalized after being a victim of domestic violence.

Montano, 32, made several worrying posts to her Instagram stories on Wednesday. The first two came in the morning hours and alleged that a man only know as Justin Watson stood on her neck and kicked her before she escaped “naked” and found help from a person in the hotel she was staying out.

UFC veteran Nicco Montano allegedly a victim of domestic violence and assault

“Tonight, Justin Watson stood on my neck and stomped my face in then kept kicking me and shoving my hair into his fist and the corner of the bed frame. I got away for a second to run down the hall (naked) screaming for my life as he tried to drag me back by my hair,” Montano wrote. “Luckily someone from the hotel heard my screams and came to rescue me. I’m stuck in Texas, not knowing where he is and scared.”

That post was followed by another story where Montano stated she was in a Texas hospital and was feeling “sooooo lucky” that her fighting techniques and strength aided in being able to defend herself.

“I’m in the hospital and I’m sooooo lucky to have the technique and strength that I have to have defended myself,” she wrote.

It is unclear at this time if Watson is a significant other of the UFC veteran, or if the posts could possibly fradulent. MixedMartialArts.com reached out to the fighter but have not yet received a response.

In the late afternoon, The Ultimate Fighter season 26 winner updated followers on the latest with her health and situation.

“I’m doing okay everyone. Thanks for the love.”

The 4-3 fighter is currently a free agent after being released from the UFC following another bad weight cut for her scheduled bout against Yanan Wu in July. Her four year run in the promotion was often snake bit as injuries and issues in making the flyweight limit lead to the cancellation or postponement of nine fights during her UFC tenure.

Montano was the first women to hold the women’s 125 pound title after winning it on the reality series, but never defended it. Her title run ended after a poor weight cut led to her 2018 title defense against Valentina Shevchenko to be called off, and she was prompltly stripped of her title. She only competed in the Octagon once after winning her TUF championship. That was a 2019 loss to current title challenger Julianna Pena.

MixedMartialArts. will update this story when we receive further information.
