The war of words between UFC superstars Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor continues to churn, with “Gamebred” throwing cocaine accusations at the former two-division champion.

The public spat between two of the promotion’s most bankable stars started last week after Masvidal (35-15) was forced to remove himself from a planned bout at UFC 269 against welterweight contender Leon Edwards (19-3), due to an undisclosed injury. Following the news, McGregor (22-6) took to Twitter and criticized the Floridian in a since-deleted tweet.

“He a bitch for bottling the fight against Leon. F*ck your “injury” You sign to fight, you fight. Strip that belt from him that he never even won. Hoe in a housecoat,” McGregor wrote.

Jorge Masvidal calls Conor McGregor a ‘bitter old man’ that will eventually ‘snort himself to death’

“Notorious” and Edwards are both represented by the same management agency in Paradigm Sports. In a response to the public attacks, during a Wednesday appearance on The MMA Hour, the 37-year-old suggested McGregor’s frustrations about the bout being cancelled come from that management connection. But also, from general disillusionment with how his career has gone of late — following two straight losses to Dustin Poirier — and his belief “the bitter old man” has serious drug abuse problems.

“I think he is a bitter old man just screaming at the TV all day. It sucks for him that he’s broken. He’s gotten broken so many times that he can’t put himself back together as far as fighting goes. Like, go have a regular life, bro. This dude’s gonna end up snorting himself to death,” Masvidal said. “So I’m not worried about him. I’m just trying to get big paychecks and fight. You go to rehab, motherf*cker, and treat older people the right way. When they sign us to fight, I’ll teach you some respect.

“… I couldn’t really care less for him. He’s a 145-er, I’m a 170-pounder. Full-grown man-size. Have him deal with fun-size. I’ve always addressed this when it comes up — we’re not even going to entertain this f*cking cockroach,” he continued. “He’s mad because what’s-his-face is signed to whatever the f*ck his company’s called, and they were going to collect the biggest paycheck they were ever going to collect off my ass fighting and beating Leon. It’s not going to happen anymore, so you can see the bitterness get exposed, but he just picked the wrong dude.”

McGregor, 33, is expected to be out of action until the second quarter of 2022, as he continues his recovery from a fractured leg suffered during his UFC 264 loss to Poirier in July.

Masvidal has not fought since a knockout loss to welterweight king Kamaru Usman in April. It was his second straight championship defeat to Usman.

Although unlikely, is a McGregor vs Masvidal fight maybe the biggest fight that can be made in the UFC right now?
