The UFC Vegas 41 medical suspensions have been released exclusively to MixedMartialArts.com, and both participants in the card’s main event could be sidelined well into 2022.
UFC Vegas 41 took place inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday afternoon. The card featured a headlining matchup of top-five middleweights competing at light heavyweight. After a week-long saga about which weight the bout would be contested at, Marvin Vettori (18-4-1) and Paulo Costa (13-2) delivered a highly competitive five-round battle that saw “The Italian Dream” pull out the unanimous decision victory.
After their 25 minute war, both Costa and Vettori could be headed to the sidelines for the next six months with various injuries incurred during the bout. Including serious damage to the forearms, a knee, a foot, and an eye. They will need clearance from specialists if they hope to return to the Octagon before April.
