After a difficult first round, UFC featherweight Nate Landwehr used relentless pressure to score a third-round submission on Ludovit Klein at UFC Vegas 40.
Over the first five minutes, Slovakia’s Klein looked to play a distance game and out technique the American. Scoring points from range and not letting Landwehr turn the fight into something he would prefer in an all-out war.

In the second round, “The Train” made some adjustments and was able to more efficiently pressure his opponent without taking as much damage. He even mixed in some grappling, and you could see the varied attack was starting to have an effect on “Mr. Highlight’s” gas tank. It looked like the fight was even heading into a pivotal final five minutes.
In the third, the pressure onslaught continued, and Klein was having trouble keeping Landwehr off of him as he took more and more damage. Eventually, the fight hit the mat, and to the shock of anyone who has followed the Tennessee-native, Landwehr locked in an anaconda choke for the first submission win of his 18-fight career.
The victory was an important bounceback win after Landwehr lost to Julian Erosa in February, and has lost two of his first three in the Octagon.
The defeat for Klein is a second straight as he falls to 1-2 in the UFC.
