Danaa Batgerel is starting to build quite a lethal reputation for himself after scoring a technical knockout win over Brandon Davis at UFC Vegas 40. His third straight first-round knockout in the Octagon.

Batgerel started his UFC career with a debut setback against Heili Alateng in August 2019. However, since then he has turned his Octagon fortunes around in a major way. After the loss, he followed up with TKO wins over Guido Cannetti in 2020, then Kevin Natividad in April of this year.

Tonight, inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nev. he showed once again that his recent power surge was no fluke. In the opening round of his bout with Davis, a thumping right hand floored the American and thrust him into survival mode. “Killer B” — who is starting his second stint in the promotion — tried his best to cover up and keep the Mongolian at bay.

However, the barrage of shots from “Storm” became too much for the referee to keep watching. Forcing the stoppage with three minutes left in the opening round, and handing Davis a rude welcome in his Octagon return.

Batgerel moves to 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the UFC.

The loss ends a four-fight win streak that helped to propel Davis back onto the promotion’s radar.
