Kevin Holland chases, stops man trying to steal a car (PHOTOS)

Move over Derrick Lewis, there’s a new sheriff in town.

According to a series of photos given to Ariel Helwani, UFC middleweight Kevin Holland chased and stopped a man trying to steal a car on Monday morning. The images are of the suspect being held by Holland as the police arrive on the scene. Apparently, Holland saw the man stealing the car in his neighborhood and, “followed the guy in his Dodge Charger then chased him by foot.”

This comes just days after Holland’s UFC Vegas 38 which first ended in him tapping to a rear-naked choke, and then the fight later being deemed a no-contest due to an accidental head butt which the referee felt led to the fight-ending sequence.

Despite the no-contest ruling, Holland took the fight as a loss, giving props to his opponent, Kyle Daukaus.

“I never thought of a No Contest. I’m not that type of person,” Holland said in his post-fight interview. “As far as I’m concerned he knocked me out and choked me out in one fight. If it was a street fight he would have gotten the job done. So, I mean, kung fu first, defend yourself at all times. I didn’t defend myself against the headbutt. That’s my fault.“

Daukaus felt the win was valid and had it gone the other way, Holland would be getting praise.

“If that would’ve happened to me, it would have been fine,” Daukaus said in the post-fight interview. “If he would’ve stood back up and if he would’ve gotten back to his feet and knock me senseless, they would’ve made it a big deal about him on ESPN saying, ‘Oh, he suffered a headbutt and then got up and knocked me out.’ But, because he recovers off of a headbutt gives up his back and I choke him, I get a no contest. So … it is what it is. I don’t know”

Both Daukaus and Holland would like to run the fight back.
