Two of the UFC’s most experienced featherweights are finally meeting inside the octagon.
A featherweight bout between Cub Swanson (27-12) and Darren Elkins (26-9) has been added to the UFC’s Dec. 18 Fight Night lineup, according to an official event page. Combined, Swanson and Elkins have made 44 UFC appearances.
Swanson is 12-8 in his UFC career so far, with a 2-5 record in his past seven outings. Prior to his most recent loss, a TKO defeat to Giga Chikadze in May, Swanson had won two straight bouts against Daniel Pineda and Kron Gracie. He has earned six UFC Fight of the Night bonuses in his career.
Elkins is set to make his 25th UFC appearance and his 23rd at 145 pounds, which will break a tie for the most UFC featherweight appearances with Max Holloway (22). His UFC record stands at 16-8 after winning his past two fights against Darrick Minner and Luiz Eduardo Garagorri.
The UFC’s Dec. 18 event is scheduled to be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Chris Daukaus.
