Dana White, Oscar De La Hoya trade verbal jabs on Twitter over UFC 266 fighter pay
It seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon promoting for higher fighter play in the UFC … except the fighters themselves. And the latest voice of the cause is none other than UFC president Dana White’s arch-nemesis, Oscar De La Hoya.
Shortly after Alexander Volkanovski secured his title with a stunning FOTY performance over Brian Ortega, De La Hoya took to Twitter to congratulate Volkanovski and throw a dig at White about how much his reigning champion was making.
“ Hey [Alexander Volkanovski] you just won a brutal battle for UFC and made 1/20 of what you’re worth. [Dana White] have some f**king respect for yourself and these fighters and pay these warriors what they deserve.”

Not surprisingly, White did not take kindly to the words and quipped back at the legendary boxer.
“STFU U crack head,” White wrote. “Faking that u had Covid and robbing me of watching u get KTFO by[Vitor Belfort] you should win an academy award for your hospital performance.”
He’s referencing De La Hoya pulling out of his Triller headline bout with Belfort earlier this month and forcing the entire card to move from California to Florida in order to allow Evander Holyfield to replace him.
White didn’t come to the UFC 266 presser so we don’t have more of his thoughts but we bet there are some choice words that didn’t make it online.
