NSAC Doles Out Three Drug Test Suspensions

MMA news

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) just lost three of its active fighters — two of which are benched until 2022 — after a trio of positive drug tests were returned from separate UFC “Fight Night” events in Las Vegas, which remain under the regulation of Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

MMA Junkie has the detailed list below:

Chris Barnett
UFC Vegas 23
Submission loss to Ben Rothwell
Positive for marijuana
Fined $1,036.08
Suspended until Oct. 26, 2021

Daniel Pineda
UFC Vegas 30
No Contest against Andre Fili
Positive for amphetamine
Fined $2,554.38
Suspended until March 26, 2022

Rodrigo Nascimento
UFC Vegas 31
No Contest against Alan Baudot
Positive for ritalinic acid
Fined $1,945.36
Suspended until Jan. 17, 2022

Fines and suspensions for marijuana have since been removed from the banned substances list; however, Barnett popped before the rule change was applied, so he’s pretty much screwed until the end of the month.
