UFC color commentator and podcasting juggernaut Joe Rogan made headlines earlier this month after catching — and conquering — COVID-19, thanks to a witches brew of alternative medicines like Ivermectin and Monoclonal Antibodies.
Radio personality Howard Stern was not impressed.
“I heard Joe Rogan saying, ‘What are you busting my balls for? I took horse de-wormer and a doctor gave it to me.’ Well, a doctor would also give you a vaccine, so why take horse-dewormer?” Stern said on Monday’s SiriusXM broadcast (transcribed by Daily Beast). “Make it all mandatory. Can you imagine in this country if like when Polio was out, we had these idiots who would not take the Polio vaccine?”
COVID-19 continues to be a hot-button issue in combat sports as UFC and other promotions ask live audiences to plow forward during uncertain times. In addition, venues both stateside and abroad continue to navigate ever-changing policies on vaccine mandates.
Just ask this UFC lightweight contender.
“We have no time for idiots in this country anymore, we don’t want you,” Stern continued. “Stay home, die there with your COVID. Don’t take the cure, but don’t clog up our hospitals with your COVID when you finally get it. Stay home, don’t bother with science, it’s too late. Go fuck yourself, we just don’t have time for you.”
Rogan, who is already mad at CNN over Horse-Gate, can add Stern to his list of detractors.
