Mara Romero Borella will have to wait a little longer before she makes her return to the Invicta FC.
The UFC veteran, as well as Brazilian atomweight Monique Ariane, have been forced out of Saturday night’s Invicta FC 44 card due to travel restrictions and visa issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company announced Monday.
Brogan Walker-Sanchez (6-2), who was originally paired up against Borella, will now take on Emilee King (5-5) in a main card bouy. Marisa Messer-Belenchia (3-1) will step in to replace Adriane, taking on Katie Saull (3-4) in the prelims.
Invicta FC 44 will go down at the Memorial Hall in Kansas City and feature Emily Ducote (9-6) vs. Danielle Taylor (11-5) for the strawweight belt in the headliner, while Lisa Verzosa (6-1) meets Taneisha Tennant (3-1) for the 135-pound championship.
