The final hurdle for all the competitors on Saturday night’s Ultimate Fighting Championship card is here with the UFC Vegas 34 weigh-ins. The fighters on the 12 bout card started hitting the scales inside the UFC Apex at 12 pm ET.
All but two of the 24 competitors on the card made weight. Unfortunately, one of the two fighters that missed the mark originally was headliner Kelvin Gastelum. He was over the one pound grace limit by a quarter pound. His main event bout with Jared Cannonier will still move forward after getting extra time and nailing the limit.
The other combatant to miss the mark was Saidyokub Kakhramonov. He missed the grace weight by 2.5 pounds. He will forfeit 20% of his fight purse and the planned bout with Trevin Jones will go on as scheduled.
The August 21 event will also take place inside the UFC Apex and will kick off with preliminary action at 7 pm ET and be simulcast on both ESPN 2 and ESPN+. The six-bout main card will follow at 10 pm ET and air on ESPN (instead of ESPN 2) and ESPN+.
UFC Vegas 34 is headlined by a battle of top-10 middleweights when third-ranked Jared Cannonier (13-5) takes on former title challenger and ninth-ranked talent Kelvin Gastelum (17-7).
