Dustin Poirier came out on the winning end against Conor McGregor yet again on Saturday in their UFC 264 trilogy bout.
The anticipated rubber match between lightweights at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas saw Poirier (28-6 MMA, 20-5 UFC) emerge with the first-round TKO win after McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) suffered a broken leg that prevented him from continuing.
Although the ending was slightly anticlimactic, “The Diamond” got his hand raised and moves forward in his career.
There’s not much surprise to what’s next. All signs point to a lightweight title bout between Poirier and champion Charles Oliveira.
Is that really the fight to make, though? Or is there credence to a fourth Poirier vs. McGregor matchup?
