Dana White’s Contender Series contract winner Nikolas Motta appears headed for his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut in September, and Octagon graybeard Jim Miller will be the one to welcome him.

Miller, who has a record 37 UFC appearances, is expected to be tapped to face Motta at the promotion’s planned even on September 18. MMAJunkie was the first to report the booking.

Motta, 28, earned his UFC contract in November on week nine of the 2020 season of DWCS. He is also a veteran of season four of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, as well as regional promotion’s Shooto Brazil and CFFC. He was originally set to make his promotional debut in May versus Damir Hadzovic before he was pulled from the booking.

“Iron” is on a three-fight win streak with one knockout, and two unanimous decisions heading into his Octagon maiden voyage.

Miller has a 21-15 record in the UFC and last competed in a losing effort to Joe Solecki at UFC on ABC 2. He has lost three of his last four and two straight. Miller, the younger brother of former UFC fighter Dan Miller, turns 38 in August.
