While Seungwoo Choi did not finish Julian Erosa in 37-seconds like Ricky Glen did to his opponent earlier in the night, the Koreans UFC Vegas 29 win was still short and impressive nonetheless.

The 28-year-old entered the UFC Apex on a two-fight win streak. While Erosa brought three straight victories of his own to the Octagon. Considering their hot runs, both showed respect early and looked to find the range to unleash a shot that could do some damage. Choi was able to beat “Juicy J” to the range game and found the right spot just a minute and a half into the first round.

“Sting” showed exactly why he is called such when he unfurled a two-punch combo at Erosa. The first missed, but the left hand landed clean on his opponent’s chin and floored the Dana White’s Contender Series veteran, in his second stint with the promotion. Choi quickly pounced on his hurt foe and scored with thumping ground-and-pound that put Erosa out cold and forced the referee to jump in to end the bout.

It’s Choi’s first knockout in the UFC, as well as his first stoppage from strikes in over three years. The 10-3 Korean prospect is becoming one to watch in the UFC featherweight division.
