Midnight Mania! Woodley Accepts Mayweather’s Offer To Train Him

MMA news

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

First and foremost, Floyd Mayweather is in the money-making business; that’s why he’s accepted this “legalized bank robbery” circus opposite Logan Paul. However, it appears that “Money” may also be in the “Get the Paul brothers out of boxing” business, because he’s going above and beyond merely beating up Logan on Saturday night.

In addition to his upcoming exhibition bout, Mayweather reached out during a media scrum to offer to train Tyron Woodley for his own bout with Jake Paul. “Well, give me Tyron Woodley. I make sure I get in camp and train him for this fight,” Mayweather said (via BJPenn.com). “I want Tyron Woodley to come to Las Vegas and work with us.”

For his part, the former UFC champion was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. In his own press conference, Woodley revealed that he’s already texted with Mayweather and accepted his offer.

“They just texted me, let’s do it,” Woodley responded. “I just talked to him today so for sure, why would I not train with the greatest boxer of all time? He’s already my dog and we’ve been talking about training anyway, so for sure. I’m definitely going to take him up on that.”

While having a boxing legend in one’s camp certainly cannot hurt, it also doesn’t guarantee victory. Notably, Ben Askren spent a fair amount of time training with legendary coach Freddie Roach ahead of his own bout with Jake Paul, and well … It still ended very poorly.

Somehow, I’m predicting this all ends in a WWE tag team match.
