Re-live the titanic matchup between two of boxing’s all-time greats, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, courtesy of Showtime Sports.
For years, fight fans wondered what would happen if Mayweather and Pacquiao ever stepped into the ring to face one another, with both champions racking up world titles across multiple weight classes. They finally agreed to a welterweight bout on May 2, 2015, with MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas hosting the mega event. Mayweather’s WBA, WBC and The Ring titles were on the line, while Pacquiao was the reigning WBO champion at the time.
The fight failed to live up to the hype, with Mayweather’s trademark defensive style proving to be an impossible puzzle for Pacquiao to solve. Through 12 rounds of action, there were few highlights and Mayweather went on to win a unanimous decision (116-112, 116-112, 118-110), improve his pro record to 48-0, and add the WBO belt to his collection.

In the years since, Mayweather and Pacquiao have both talked about the possibility of a rematch, but no agreement for a second fight has materialized. Mayweather went on to retire in 2015 after picking up a win over Andre Berto and then ended that retirement in 2017 to take on UFC star Conor McGregor in a massive crossover boxing bout.
He is next set to meet YouTube celebrity Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing bout on June 6.
Pacquiao has continued to box while also serving as a senator in his native Philippines. He fights Errol Spence Jr. on Aug. 21 for the WBC and IBF welterweight titles.
