After their wins in their respective divisions both Rob Font and Carla Esparza have entrenched themselves into the title picture conversation. Font extended his winning streak to four in a row, and having been ranked third coming into the fight, Font could wait his turn while champion Aljamain Sterling and former champion Petr Yan have a rematch later this year, or he could choose to fight the winner of TJ Dillashaw vs Cory Sandhagen which takes place later this summer.

Meanwhile Esparza, the former strawweight champion extended her winning streak to five in the division, and has potentially lined herself up for a second shot at the title against champion Rose Namajunas, who she defeated to win the belt seven years ago.
