Former strawweight champion Carla Esparza earned her first finish since 2014 as she bludgeoned Yan Xiaonan with punches and elbows to get a second-round TKO stoppage and she was rewarded with a Performance of the Night bonus as a result.
Esparza was dominant from start to finish as she sought to make a statement with her win to hopefully propel herself into a title fight against reigning 115-pound champion Rose Namajunas.
For now, Esparza can at least celebrate taking home an extra $50,000 for her blistering performance to hand Yan the first loss of her UFC career.
Meanwhile, Bruno Silva picked up a second straight TKO finish as he dismantled Victor Rodriguez with punches to get a knockout win just one minute into the fight. He also takes home an extra $50,000 for Performance of the Night.
Finally, heavyweights Jared Vanderaa and Justin Tafa will both earn $50,000 for the Fight of the Night after they engaged in a brutal and bloody battle over three rounds on the main card. Vanderaa ended up securing the unanimous decision win but Tafa can certainly stand proud after they went to war for 15 minutes to get recognition with the Fight of the Night bonus.
