Highlights! Lee Starches Nastyukhin For First-Round KO

MMA news

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

One Championship might just have a phenom on their hands. Christian Lee, the promotion’s 22-year-old “Warrior,” looked to defend his Welterweight crown earlier tonight opposite Timofey Nastyukhin.

The match didn’t last long.

After a patient start from the champion, Lee found his opening. Nastyukhin jumped forward to engage, but Lee timed him with a left hand that rocked the Russian. When Nastyukhin tried to change things up with a takedown attempt, Lee punished him with a positively violent barrage of strikes.

Check it out below:

The victory marked his second title defense, as well as his sixth win in a row. Despite his recent controversial disqualification loss, Eddie Alvarez may be next in line for a shot at Lee’s crown. It would be a tremendous match up of experience vs. youth and athleticism, and definitely one of the more high-profile title fights One could book in the near future.

This cage side view (plus the sound of the knee!) makes it extra clear how badly Adriano Moraes’ knee crushed Demetrious Johnson.

Another ring side clip for good measure:

Gordon Ryan is consistently unbearable on social media, but I continue to follow him for the technical insight posts, which are pretty unmatched.
