‘King’ Yanked From UFC 258 After Weigh-In Collapse

MMA news

Bobby Green will not be competing at UFC 258 this weekend after all.

Green, who was scheduled to fight fellow lightweight veteran Jim Miller as part of UFC 258’s pay-per-view (PPV) main card, collapsed backstage following official weigh ins early Friday (replay HERE). “King” had successfully made weight so it was undecided at that time whether or not he’d still be cleared to fight.

According to a recent report by MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin, Green will not be be fighting this weekend at UFC 258 due to medical reasons. His fight with Miller has been pulled from the card and a featherweight scrap between Brian Kelleher and Ricky Simon now joins the PPV main card on ESPN+.

It is unknown at this time whether or not UFC is looking to re-book Green vs. Miller.

Green, 34, is coming off a stellar 2020 campaign. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and unpredictable schedule, “King” managed to produce a 3-1 record inside of the Octagon while defeating the likes of Clay Guida and Lando Vannata. The long-time UFC veteran will have to wait a little longer before he steps inside of the cage in the new year.
