Cory Sandhagen made a statement on Saturday night in Las Vegas, knocking out veteran Frankie Edgar with a memorable strike that will be seen on highlight reels for many years to come.
Sandhagen’s flying knee landed flush on Edgar’s chin, sending him to the canvas and knocking him out. Sandhagen has now won five of his last six fights, including a second-round KO of Marlon Moraes in October. With the victory he’s positioned himself for a future shot at the bantamweight title, currently held by Petr Yan.
After the fight, fellow fighters took to social media to praise Sandhagen’s victory.
Edgar is legend, time to move on. Good win for Cory. But hard to forget what my next opponent did to him. We’ll see what happens next 🤫
