ESPN blabbermouth Stephen A. Smith talked his way into hot water earlier this week by revealing his disdain for female fighting. Not surprisingly, that didn’t sit well with most women competing inside the Octagon.
Including UFC flyweight Molly McCann.
“How can you say that when you’re on such a platform?” McCann asked Insider. “Could you imagine Serena Williams watching that? It’s not just fighters he’ll have offended. It’s every sportswoman and maybe every sportsman. Stephen Smith needs to give his head a wobble. When I win on Saturday, I’m going to say something on the microphone: ‘I’ll see you in the car park!’”
Let’s hope they stream that on ESPN+.
McCann (10-3), affectionally nicknamed “Meatball,” fights Brazilian standout Lara Procopio at the UFC Vegas 18 event tomorrow night in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she’ll attempt to rebound from her unanimous decision loss to Talia Santos last July.
The 30 year-old McCann is 10-3 with four knockouts.
